McDonald's Happy Meal: Minions!

I promised myself that I would never get involved in collecting toys from McDonald's Happy Meal again. I actually can't remember the last set that I collected, which was in 2009. They are so easy to get misplaced in the attic because of their sizes.

And as I mentioned in my previous post, it was challenging to complete a set because I had to eat same McDonald's food over and over. Either 2-pc. hotcakes, regular burger, spaghetti, 4-pc. chicken nuggets or 1-pc chicken.

I remember reading a portion in Archie's Comics where Veronica would buy a Happy Meal and once she's out of the store, she'd throw away the food and just keep the toys. Just mentioning.

But who can resist these cute minions? I tried not to give in for several days until one day I just told myself that I need to complete the set. So I asked Doc M one evening if we can have dinner at McDonald's, which he said yes to.

He was the one who located seats for us, while I was in charge of the ordering. What he didn't expect was to see me carrying 4 sodas on my tray, which meant I bought 4 meals instead of just 2 that we agreed at since we try to lessen food consumption in the evening. Yet he knows me when it comes to collecting toys.

After finishing out food, I told him that I will be bringing home Happy Meals to Baby G, my niece. So before leaving the branch, I ordered 3 more sets for take out. So in just one go, I was able to get all the 7 minions. The 2 evil minions I was able to get the next evening.

So here they are now.

SMAX Series 1 Action Figures

I am sure I have more than 8 of these cute monsters. Either I gave some of them away, or they are still in the attic waiting to be found. At least these are the ones who stayed together. I recently taken them out of their packages and now keeping them all together in a plastic box so they don't take too much storage space anymore.

They are from Mattel, and they are supposed to be involved in a certain game but I am not interested to learn it anymore. I just like them as they are and once I have an organized storage system, they will be out for display.

Each is about 2 inches tall. So here they are:

Is Lalaloopsy Worth Having?

Yesterday, Baby G (my niece) went to a playstore where they have different toys, including Lalaloopsy. It's actually my first time to get hold of this doll and yes, I find it cute.

The doll in photo is NOT mine, but I have been roaming around toy shops to check them out. I am psyching myself not to get them since I find them expensive. And I definitely will need to debox them since they come in bulky packaging, or else I my storage issue will never be over.

Yet I am still not closing my doors.

LIV Girls Getaway: Sophie and Katie

I know, Liv Dolls again! I wish that the stores would sell them all at once so I can get them all in one go and post them all in one time. :)

Yesterday, I got these 2 new girls: Sophie and Katie from the Girls Getaway series. They are scheduled to be deboxed within the week since I am again starting to have a storage issue.

Once I am done collecting, will take photos of them again, hopefully in a nice doll cabinet.

My Fitflops

Apologies if I have to deviate from my usual topics about toys. I just would like to share with you another side of me: that I am also a shoe-lover. During my early times, I didn't have particular brands of footwear. As long as they are pretty and nice to look at, I was under the impression that pain was part of looking nice. Besides, I had no other choice but to use the ones my mom would buy for me.

Until I was introduced to Fitflop. They are actually under the category of slippers, (except now they started adding flats and sneakers) glamourized version, that is. It changed the concept of slippers being something casual, as they can also be worn with semi-formal clothes with just a matter of how you wear them.

And yes, I am a semi-addict. The only thing that limits me in getting more is the price of each pair, which can actually get me a decent pair or two of black office shoes. My mom and dad each owns a pair, and my sisters have more that three pairs each. I used to only have 2 pairs.

And yesterday came to me as a surprise. Few days ago I was browsing through Mr. M's (my boyfriend) phone and read this text message about an exclusive sale event sponsored by a certain credit card company. And he has this credit card.

We were supposed to go last Friday after office, but I was so tired then. We decided to go yesterday, Saturday. We left early from home as I was so sure that people would swarm the said event. I am glad we did, because after we entered, people started to line up outside and queue for payment was also long.

I was able to convince Mr. M to buy himself his pair as well.

So to make my story short, I was able to grab 3 pairs:
 Lolla (Crackle) in Black
* Sling (Sport) in Smoky Grey
* Frou in Electric Indigo

I got them all at around 50% off, which never happened in usual mall sales. The maximum discounts in malls is at 35%. I actually had to stop myself from getting more because obviously, it wouldn't be a smart move anymore; impractical!

They had limited designs as well, which meant limited choices. They didn't have ones for kids.

Anyway, so here they are:

And these 3 are joining my 2 previous pairs:

Radio Disney Pop Dreamers Dolls: Ari and Ella

It's been days since my last blog entry. I am in the process of adjustment in the office because of the changes that recently happened. This disables me to give attention to my personal stuff.

Anyway, I'd like to share with you now my Disney Pop Dreamers dolls that I recently deboxed. They have been with me for about 5 years or more. 2 of my first dolls in the collection. Few days ago, I was so certain that I was able to complete all three of them. I had to look for a copy of photos I have taken years ago and unfortunately, I only got 2 out of 3 dolls: Ari (represents Ariel) and Ella (represents Cinderella).

They are nice inside their boxes and unbelievably, even after years of being inside the box, they still sing. However, I need to replace the batteries as I need to test their interactive features.

After letting them out of their boxes, they are a lot more gorgeous. I am simply keeping them in my collection.

One of my projects is to take videos of my electronic and interactive toys, which I will be uploading in YouTube. But I am not sure on how soon I can do that.

I found a website that has additional details about these girls, which you might want to check out:

Now here are few more photos for your reference...

Liv Dolls Again!

I was supposed to attend an alumni party from my previous employer at the Hard Rock Cafe. I was half-hearted in the first place, but when I got there, parking was so terrible that it took me 30 minutes of running around just to find a spot. By the time I went out of the car, I already felt irritated and opted not to go and just stroll inside the mall.

Whenever I go out malling, toy stores are on my list to drop by to. So that's what I just did earlier. And I am glad I looked around Toys 'R' Us because they have a shelf full of Liv Dolls. According to the saleslady, they just arrived yesterday. I picked every item that I don't have yet.

Upon seeing them, I was certain I wanted to bring them home!

I know this feeling... I know they will not be my last dolls and playsets. Just when I thought I was rehabilitated, I am starting with an addiction all over again. Liv Dolls addiction, that is.

Ceramic Dolls Calendar

My collection is also composed of several ceramic dolls, and few porcelain dolls. My sister created this calendar in 2006 as part of her projects back in college and she used few of my dolls for it.

In photos now are my ceramic dolls. Although the store where I bought them tagged them to be porcelain dolls, I refuse to believe so because of the quality and the place where I bought them. I got them from a local toy store that sells low-priced toys that are often from China. As for these dolls, they wear cute dresses, accessories and headpieces, but were all made poorly. I meant poor, uneven stitches, loose threads, etc. They might be good to look at from afar, but once you examine closely, that's when you'll see their imperfections.

The dolls themselves are in storage and some were broken. I am thinking of letting them go, but I am unsure whether they have a market now. Unless I really price them low perhaps?

Jollibee Kiddie Meal: Justice League

Here's another set of Jollibee Kiddie Meal toys. This time, it's 5 of the Justice League characters. I am not a fan, either. But as I have mentioned before, it was the time when all I wanted was to collect toys from fastfood chains.

One day I have thought of selling it. I was half-hearted doing so but I said I just wanted to try if someone would like them since it's Justice League. I posted through eBay International and I was right since they got sold immediately.

They are bout 5 inches tall and have better quality than the Sesame Street gang, which you'll find from my earlier posts. And the one who bought it was happy and even said that they were painted nicely.

Blythe: Who is She?

There was a time when I was interested with every doll I see and I had no direction on how I would like my collection to be. So yes, I got so interested with Blythe as well. However, I found the market price for each doll to be exremely expensive if to be compared with Barbie and other dolls.

Each Blythe doll must be special, I thought. Too special that I have decided to tick it out my list. I was so sure that I wouldn't be able to manage such collection.

There was I time when I was in Bangkok and I saw 2 boxes. Given on how rare Blythe dolls are in stores, I excitedly approached the saleslady to ask. I was ready then to buy, despite my budget being allotted to Barbie dolls. Upon hearing that it was about USD 235.00, I immediately dropped the thought of owning one. In my mind, I would be able to get a very nice Barbie Collector doll with the price.

Until I saw this being sold at our local ebay store. Bought her as is, no clothes, no other markings to have her recognized. But given that she's alone in my collection with no chances of growing in numbers, I have decided to sell her through eBay International few months after.

All I can say is that she must really be special, coming from a very rare (should I call) series. Despite having a crack on the shoulder, she fetched a price more that I expected.

I believe her new owner is really a Blythe enthusiast and she's gone to a better environment. If I am to see her now, I am sure I won't recognize her anymore as she must've gone through extensive reconstruction.

A Busy Week

I have been itching to create new posts these past few days but office-related tasks were heavy that prevented me to do so. I was able to scout for few more items from the attic, which I have started taking photos of. I haven't even transferred them to the laptop up to this point. Hopefully this weekend will be ideal to post more entries.

Update: Saturday has just finished and I was able to upload one - the Honda cars by Tomy. Although they are just file pictures since I don't have them anymore. Oh well, I am still unable to post more updated toys.

Just to give you hints on what I will be posting next, these are more of my electronic toys and dolls.

Crossing my fingers that I will be able to blog about them the soonest!

Tomy Honda S800/S2000 Series

Cars also have few spaces in my collection. I am not a car enthusiast, but I guess it's nice to have variation sometimes.

I bought this particular collection few years back, had it stored for about 5 years, and finally decided to let it go. I sold it through our local ebay and it was gone in just one posting.

Since cars are not my main interest, I am unsure whether I priced it right, or if I priced it low. As far as I can remember, it was sold at $14 - $19 range.

Now I only have pictures of them, which I am sharing now with you. For sure they now found a spot in someone else's collection and they have made their new owner happy.
